As had been expected, it looks as if NXT’s formal move to Tuesday nights is becoming an increasing reality.

From PWInsider, several WWE sources have confirmed that the first post-WrestleMania 37 episode of the company’s NXT show will take place on Tuesday 13 April.

The past several weeks have seen plentiful rumours that NXT would be making Tuesdays its new home, and this seems to be yet another indicator of that. For now, there’s no word on the black and gold brand permanently moving to Tuesday nights – but the production calendar for WrestleMania Season has that 13 April date as booked in for an NXT broadcast.

Certain corners of wrestling fandom have been calling for NXT to switch nights for several months now – largely due to the competition that AEW Dynamite provides on a Wednesday – and such a move became more of a genuine reality once NBCUniversal announced that its NBC Sports Network would be ending. That means that the NHL is looking for a new Wednesday night home, throwing up questions over NXT’s future on the USA Network.

While there is no official comment from WWE on NXT moving to Tuesdays, any such move could be a sensible one – not least in how the company could piggyback off the prior night’s Raw to advertise and hype NXT.
