Big Change To MVP's WWE Role
The backstage cogs are turning for the former United States Champion.
MVP is no longer working as a producer for WWE, having been quietly transferred to a full-time onscreen performer some time in the past few weeks.
This is according to a new report from PWInsider. While anyone paying attention to recent episodes of Raw will have picked up on his increased activity as a manager and wrestler, whether or not he was still working as a producer (a role he took on shortly after returning at Royal Rumble 2020) was unclear. For now, it looks like he is pure talent again, with the reason behind the move unclear.
MVP, 46, is currently driving a wedge between Lana and Bobby Lashley, his new managerial client. Joining forces with 'The All Mighty' has seen Lashley transform into the full-on destroyer he probably should have been since coming back to WWE and he'll face Drew McIntyre for the World Championship at Backlash 2020 (14 June), with his storyline success seemingly coming from MVP's management.
While there's no word on if MVP will transition back into a production job later down the line, he's doing such a good job on television right now that it isn't worth worrying about.
