Big WWE NXT TV Taping Announced For Royal Rumble Weekend

The CFE Arena in Orlando will host WWE NXT in January.

Triple H announced via Twitter on Monday morning that WWE NXT will hold a television taping at the CFE Arena in Orlando during Royal Rumble weekend on Friday, January 22, 2016. There will be a pre-sale for tickets on November 20 at 10:00 a.m. https://twitter.com/TripleH/status/666260260248621057 The CFE Arena is on the campus of the University of Central Florida. It has a capacity of near 10,000 people, which will make this the third largest arena to ever host an NXT event. The only larger venues to hold NXT events are the Barclays Center in Brooklyn (which hosted NXT Takeover: Brooklyn during SummerSlam weekend) and the Wembley Arena that will be hosting NXT Takeover: London on December 16. It appears that the CFE Arena event will be for a taping of NXT's regular Wednesday night WWE Network broadcast. While the show has previously aired matches that were taped outside of Full Sail University in Florida, this will be by far the largest audience for a full, regular edition of NXT's weekly television broadcast. It is not yet known how many television episodes will be taped during the event, but one would image that due to the costs of renting a facility this size, as well as the massive fan presence at the show, that several episodes will be taped. The event will certainly sell out quickly, as Royal Rumble is a PPV that wrestling fans travel to from around the world. With thousands of hardcore wrestling fans in town for the weekend, selling out an NXT event in a building of this size will not be a problem and is a smart business move on the part of WWE.
