Brad Maddox Claims Top WWE Star 'Threatens' People Backstage

Legitimate reports of backstage bullying or bitterness from an old employee?

Randy Orton doesn't exactly have the best reputation when it comes to his treatment of his colleagues in World Wrestling Entertainment. Whether it was calling Kofi Kingston 'stupid' in the middle of the ring or the actually-not-true defecating in a divas bag story, it is clear that Randal isn't Captain Popular backstage.

He pretty much confirmed this himself following Cody Rhodes' release last month, stating that one of his 'few friends' was now gone.

Brad Maddox recently appeared on the Pancakes and Powerslams Podcast to talk all things World Wrestling Entertainment, and one of the subjects to come up was indeed Randal Keith Orton. Maddox claimed that Orton would 'threaten' other wrestlers backstage, particularly if things didn't go to plan during matches.

During his stint as a referee Maddox would spend a lot of time in the Gorilla Position and Orton would lay into the other wrestlers, something Maddox would watch with amazement, shocked that it was happening in front of producers and in the same room as Vince McMahon. Whilst it is always important to take the words of ex-employees with a pinch of salt, this is Randy Orton after all.

Maddox is entertaining as ever throughout the podcast, making it well worth a listen.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
