The following things are certain in life: Death, taxes and Bret Hart taking totally random pot shots at Hulk Hogan whenever the 'Hitman' has a chance.

During a recent interview with CBC Radio's Q podcast, the WWE legend spoke about his views on the current in-ring product and exactly who inspired it. Without hesitating, Bret said that he's been way more influential on today's pro wrestlers than Hogan ever was.

He's proud to think that, "They don’t wrestle like Hulk Hogan anymore. They wrestle like Bret Hart".

Later on the pod, Hart added that "wrestling is all about action and speed, and said, "I think that's where I came in". It's hard to argue with that; Bret's matches were laced with logic, realistic selling and always picked up the pace towards the end.

Watch WWE television these days and you'll find that almost every match accelerates before the end. That's something the Canadian icon believes his ring work inspired. He just couldn't resist taking a sly dig at Hogan whilst pondering his impact on the biz.

Summing it up, Hart said, "I took wrestling in a different direction".
