Brian Myers Was Unhappy With WWE's Brodie Lee Tribute On Raw
The former WWE and current Impact Wrestling star thinks Brodie Lee deserved more.
Ex-WWE star Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins) expressed his disgust on Twitter after seeing the company run an "In memory of..." graphic for Brodie Lee on Raw.
The company showed the tribute before Monday's show kicked off, but it didn't sit well with Myers that WWE didn't do more to honour his fallen friend. He tweeted, "No 10 bell salute? No video package? This man was beloved by his peers and we’re all grieving hard. This isn’t right".
Myers believes that one graphic wasn't quite enough of a tribute to Lee; he wanted to see WWE acknowledge the impact his death has had on the wider pro wrestling community properly.
Some fans agreed with Myers' emotional outburst, but others took him to task for "grief-shaming". Critics pointed out that WWE are fully entitled to mourn Lee's passing how they see fit, and they don't think it's fair that Myers was calling his old employer out during such a sad time.
Brodie Lee passed away on 26 December aged just 41. Since then, tributes have been pouring in from all corners of the wrestling globe. He will be sorely missed.
