Brock Lesnar Undergoing USADA Testing
"The Beast" is one step closer to getting back in the Octagon...
Following breaking news earlier today that Brock Lesnar is looking at returning to UFC before the end of the year, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Lesnar has re-entered the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's testing pool. Such a move by "The Beast" indicates that he has some interest in competing in yet another MMA fight.
Lesnar's last bout, a UFC 200 rout of Mark Hunt in which the current Universal Champion was given special dispensation to compete by WWE, was overturned when "The Beast" tested positive for banned substance Hydroxy-Clomiphene. Lesnar was subsequently suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a year, though in February of 2017 he announced his retirement from MMA, which removed him from the testing pool.
Lesnar's re-entry into USADA testing means that while his "retirement" may be rescinded, his suspension is back on. He still has five months left to serve, taking a rumored return at UFC's November 4th Madison Square Garden show off the table. However, it is possible that Lesnar could step in the Octagon as soon as mid-to-late December.
If, indeed, Lesnar will be fighting for UFC late this year or early next year, the rumors of him losing the Universal Title at SummerSlam would also be bolstered.
