Brock Lesnar’s 33 WWE PPV Matches Ranked From Worst To Best

29. Vs. Hardcore Holly - Royal Rumble 2004

Bob Holly was a well-respected veteran in the back but a colourless midcard to a large portion of the WWE audience. He was a guy you could depend on for a solid, no frills match, but he was never considered for a top spot. He just didn't have what it took to compete with the likes of The Rock, Triple H or, indeed, Brock Lesnar. Which makes the fact that he received a crack at Lesnar's WWE Championship at a major PPV very strange indeed. Holly had a good reason for going after Brock, however, since Lesnar broke Bob's neck when he dumped him on his head mid-powerbomb during a match on Smackdown in September 2002. Lesnar and Holly had a very disappointing, heatless six minute match at the Rumble. They were supposed to go twice as long but their time kept being cut in order to give more to other matches, like entry number 4,538 in the Triple H versus Shawn Michaels series. Bob Holly's main event 'run' only lasted a cup of coffee and it is one of Lesnar's most ordinary title defences ever.
