Brock Lesnar's Next WWE Title Programme Reportedly Set

It looks like a long-awaited (and meaty) dream match is next in line for the WWE Championship.

Brock Lesnar looks set to defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley next.

As reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this direction for the company's top title was the current plan of action as of Saturday night. This was also the reason for the fatal five-way being set out in the manner it was, with Lesnar being battered by Lashley on numerous occasions and the latter even staring down The Beast post-title win.

It's also worth noting that the new champ never hit the former title holder with an F5 during the bout and was even severely punished in the Hurt Lock before Big E broke up the hold.

The moment this match does eventually come into play will mark the first-ever one-on-one throwdown between the pair of former MMA superstars. But Meltzer also stressed that a big-time bout between Roman Reigns and Lesnar is still in the works for later down the road, with their Day 1 battle scrapped due to the Universal Champion testing positive for COVID-19. Said development resulted in Lesnar being thrown into the WWE title fatal four-way instead... and the rest is history.

As for Big E, however, it remains to be seen what is to come for the now-former champ in the wake of a deeply disappointing (through no fault of his own) time at the top.
