Cesaro Teasing New Direction In WWE?

What's next for the self-proclaimed 'Pro Wrestling Purist'?

WWE SmackDown Superstar Cesaro could be on the verge of something new in the company, having tweeted the following last night:-

It could just be a new logo, of course, but the "back to basic" caption suggests something more significant could be on the horizon for a wrestler who spent much of 2019 treading water.

The year saw the dissolution of Cesaro's tag team, The Bar, when partner Sheamus was injured, leaving 'The Swiss Superman' drifting in the ether. He has since competed in a certified banger versus Ilja Dragunov on the last NXT UK TakeOver, and worked a handful of fun TV bouts, but little else, though he recently connected with Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn on SmackDown.

This new graphic fits Cesaro's current aesthetic. For unknown reasons, the former Claudio Castagnoli went from competing in traditional wrestling trunks to three-quarter length trousers a few months back, having seemingly thrown out all non-black garments from his wardrobe.

Whatever the case, it'd be nice to see WWE attempt to do something with Cesaro in 2020. It's unlikely that he'll ever score a major push, but he's too good a wrestler to not be competing more often.
