Charlotte Flair Was WWE NXT's Top Ratings Draw In 2020

WWE's ratings went up any time Charlotte Flair appeared on NXT in 2020.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Charlotte Flair brought the most eyeballs to NXT programming last year.

Flair's much-maligned run on the brand was a surprising success in terms of quarter hour ratings. Dave Meltzer claims that Charlotte attracted 47,000 new viewers for the show every time she appeared on screen. To put that into context, 47,000 is around double what stars like The Velveteen Dream and Rhea Ripley (who scored second and third respectively in this category) managed.

Ripley did have one unique thing to boast about though. She was the only worker on NXT who consistently improved on her own personal numbers - every single Rhea segment did better than the last one throughout 2020, which is cool.

NXT did lose overall viewership during the year, but that's not really down to Flair. Her segments brought fresh eyes to the product, and that didn't escape the attention of WWE management.

Critically, most would agree that Charlotte's run on the brand wasn't a huge success (it barely helped Ripley's development, after all), but she did pull in solid ratings. That, at the end of the day, is the most important thing to WWE.
