Chris Jericho has claimed on Twitter that he "almost died" during a spot gone wrong at WWE's TLC 2009 pay-per-view.

After a fan posted .GIF footage of the main event from that night, Jericho quoted it and revealed that he feared for his life after being superkicked off Big Show's shoulders. He was supposed to crash through a conveniently-placed table at ringside, but barely glanced the wood's edge following Shawn Michaels' finish.

Jericho landed in a crumpled heap on the arena floor, and was probably gutted that he hadn't been able to readjust in mid-air and thump through the table. Still, he was also likely just glad that he was breathing.

The spectacular stunt paved the way for a D-Generation X win, but the end sequence didn't go as smoothly as everyone would've liked. Various WWE officials checked on Jericho at ringside as Shawn and Triple H dumped Show from the ring and then grabbed the Tag-Team Titles.

Jericho was physically fine, but his pride might've been bashed by the flub. Maybe that's harsh, because he could easily have brained himself on the side of that table.
