"Never! Never, never, never. It doesn't make any sense!"

Chris Jericho says he never wants to wrestle Matt Hardy in All Elite Wrestling.

'Le Champion' named his fellow veteran as his least-wanted AEW opponent while appearing on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, with his comments stemming from claims that he never wanted to work with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Kane in WWE, stating his preference to work with wrestlers younger than him.

"It's the same thing in AEW," Jericho said. "There will never be a Chris Jericho vs. Matt Hardy match. Never! Never, never, never, because we've seen that. You put it on and suddenly it's just two guys that worked 20 years ago in WWE, that doesn't make any sense."

Hardy and Jericho were opposite each other in a total of 24 televised WWE matches between 2000 and 2010. They have already met twice in AEW, albeit in multi-person bouts, the last of which was Double Or Nothing 2020's acclaimed Stadium Stampede bout on 23 May.

Hardy had previously challenged Jericho to come to his compound for an "Elite Deletion" match, though this was never followed-up on. Matt, 46, is currently mentoring Private Party in the tag division.
