Chris Jericho Teases WWE Return?

The door, you'd expect, isn't exactly "Forbidden" in this case...

On Sunday (Feb 13), Kevin Owens changed his Twitter profile picture to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the legendary 'Festival of Friendship' angle, during which he turned on Chris Jericho.

Despite unfolding against a backdrop hardly synonymous with a golden age, the segment endures as an all-time WWE 'moment'; a masterclass of entertainment, escalating drama and stirring pathos, it instigated a rivalry that made its way to WrestleMania 33 - though not, as originally scheduled, in the main event. This is important.

In response, Jericho tweeted "I haven't forgotten Owens....you never know when you'll see me again."

Owens recently re-signed with WWE, so if there's anything to this "tease" - and there more likely than not isn't - one would think any continuation would take place there. That is, if you don't bear in mind that a contract in WWE means just as much as a storyline victory. The deal Jericho signed with AEW was set to expire in January 2022. Jericho has appeared on AEW programming in February 2022, from which it can be inferred that AEW exercised the one year extension reported in August 2021.

No news on Jericho's contract status has surfaced since then, but since the infamous demotion compelled Jericho to look beyond WWE in the first instance, it's safe to bet that a worker is simply working here.
