With the 2021 Royal Rumble PPV now in the record books, the absolute best part of the entire event for some fans was seeing the return to in-ring action of Christian.

Captain Charisma shocked the wrestling world by turning up at #24 in the men’s Royal Rumble bout, with this marking his first WWE match since March 2014. Of course, there was a pseudo return of sorts last year against Randy Orton, but that was merely a sham designed for Ric Flair to turn heel by hitting Christian in the d*ck.

If seeing the two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion return was enough to put a smile on the face, even better was seeing him and long-time partner and best friend Edge shared a tear-inducing hug towards the final stages of the Rumble match.

During his Rumble appearance, Christian lasted 18 minutes, helping to eliminate both Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman, before he himself was tossed over the top rope by Seth Rollins.

With fans eager to see whether this was simply a one-off return from Christian or whether it will lead to some sort of new ‘run’ for the ridiculously talented Canadian, a post-Rumble WWE interview saw the veteran tease his future plans.

A post-Rumble WWE interview saw Christian tease his future plans, and PWInsider has followed that up by now reporting that, yes, the ridiculously talented Canadian’s Royal Rumble appearance was far more than simply a one-off.

The belief is that Christian was medically cleared for a WWE return a week ago, and he is likely to be working a part-time schedule moving forward.

For those hoping to see Christian turn up on tonight’s WWE Raw, the word as of this afternoon was that he is not booked for tonight’s red brand outing. Of course, plans change, pal – so here’s hoping!
