CM Punk: 10 Reasons WWE Fans Have Turned On Him

10. Punk's Attitude

One of the key reasons in fans turning on Punk is that he has proved to be the antithesis of what we are. The average WWE fan is working class, we wouldn't dream of leaving our job in the lurch, we have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Punk in contrast is a millionaire who in fan's eyes has basically used his money and power to say to WWE "Hey, normal rules don't apply to me, I'm above contractual agreements." Far from being the 'voice of the voiceless', Punk has acted in a way that represents only himself. You might say he earned the right to put himself first, he came and contributed a ton to WWE, it's his prerogative to now do what he wants. The problem with that argument is CM Punk was under a WWE contract. If he wouldn't work for the sake of his own pride he should have at least worked for the legal and moral responsibility of a written contract. If the shoe had been on the other foot Punk would have been furious if WWE broke their end of his deal. Fans who are breaking their backs in a low income 9 to 5 can't help but to be frustrated at Punk's walkout. Sure, you can be burned out, but sit down and work it out with your employer so you can at least fulfil your contract. Punk took the easy way out and stood himself apart from the working man.
