In the video, Punk is facing off against fellow future WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, wrestling in a main event of the IWA. Before even locking up, Punk is taking some heat off the crowd, leading him to turn to someone in attendance and bark "I hope your parents die." You can make your own mind up if this is an acceptable way for a character to get heat, a misjudged heel-ism, or in fact Punk genuinely losing his cool at the crowd. It was certainly a very emotionally raw line for Punk to say, a brutal and taboo insult which most of us would never wish on our worst enemy. This may have been what Punk thought was a clever way of pushing the boundaries, a heel line which topped the usual fare by touching on a fear which haunts us all. If that was the case, if Punk was just after heat, he failed. Initial 'oohs' quickly gave way to laughs.
