CM Punk: 10 Things He Will Do After His WWE Contract Expires
9. He Remains Quiet And Out Of The Spotlight
Up until a few days ago, CM Punk had stayed off his Twitter account and remained out of the spotlight. This is a relatively hard thing to do in today's world of TMZ, social media and smart phones, where anyone can snap a photo or record you in seconds. With his last appearance for the WWE coming at the Royal Rumble back in January, and his exit from the company the next night, there are many questions unanswered. Neither WWE or CM Punk have commented at all in regards to the entire situation. There is someone who has spoken up recently for CM Punk, and that is his friend Natalie Slater. She wrote an article for the Chicago Tribune's RedEye titled My Friend Is Famous, And It Sucks. While never referring to CM Punk by name, she does call him the recently retired seven-time World Champion. Below is a portion of the article:
The nervous ninny in me lives with the constant fear that someone's going to stab him. On the rare occasion I can get him out of the house I get to witness how overbearing and creepy people are toward him. "Bodyguard!" my husband and I nag. "That's stupid," he says. "What am I going to do, drag some guy around with me forever? Why can't people just leave me alone?"
The article gave us a look inside CM Punk's world, and the downside to his popularity and fame. Going out in public has become very difficult for him, and almost a burden. It's very possible that CM Punk remains out of the spotlight, and tries to go back to living just a regular life at home in Chicago.
