CM Punk: 6 Reasons His Return Will Be "Bad For Business"

5. Is He Being A Brat?

Admittedly, this is a common argument, but no less valid for it. We know how good Punk is, he's supremely talented in the ring, on the microphone, in terms of character, we all know it. The trouble is, Punk knows it too, and it gives him an ego problem. When he said during his pipebomb that he was the Best In The World, he wasn't playing up a character, that's truly what he believes. And herein lies the rub. The fact that CM Punk hasn't headlined Wrestlemania is indeed a crime, and if this is his legacy in the WWE, it was always have that blemish. But it has to be said, that legacy is otherwise looking pretty damn impressive. He has had fantastic matches with Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and The Rock in the past two years alone. He is the only man in history to win the Money In The Bank twice, and will probably be the only one to win it two years in a row. He has the longest WWE Championship reign in the modern era at 434 days, the longest the championship has been held since Hulk Hogan's first title reign in the '80s. When you consider that Hulk Hogan was the 10th champion to hold that belt and Punk's long reign was the 110th, that is quite a feat. And the fact that he's been connected with so many Divas (Lita, Beth Phoenix, Maria, Kelly Kelly and AJ Lee among others) is just the cherry on top of his big impressive cake. Quite frankly, what more does he want?? I know that Punk should have headlined Wrestlemania, I get that. And I understand his issues with the creative department, but the fact is those issues weren't affecting him all that much. In 2013, he had a match with The Rock, a hell of a streak match with The Undertaker that had a strong storyline going into it, a match with Jericho, a long feud with Paul Heyman and his league of Guys, and near the end of the year he was added to Daniel Bryan's Authority storyline, feuding against The Shield and confronting Kane which would have eventually led him to a match against Triple H at 'Mania. He can't claim that he's being mistreated by the creative department, in the 7 years since Punk has been on WWE programming, he's accomplished a hell of a lot. If he walked out for other people, its a protest. If he walked out for himself, he's being a spoilt brat, plain and simple. And another uncomfortable question is raised....
