CM Punk has reached out to ‘Hangman’ Adam Page to apologise for comments made after last week’s episode of AEW Collision, reports the Flagship Wrestling Podcast.

Punk sparked controversy by blasting Page via an in-ring promo following the Collision broadcast on Saturday, 12 August. Flanked by FTR, Punk called Page a “peg warmer,” claiming ‘Hangman’’s action figures were left on the same supermarket shelves that his own were flying off, then criticised wrestlers for branding themselves the “heart and soul” of AEW without living up to it.

“I don’t know what I’m trying to do,” said Punk after making these comments, claiming he got “rocked” while wrestling the House of Black beforehand.

The Flagship states that Punk texted Page in the wake of what happened, apologising. The 44-year-old has also stated that he didn’t have anything to do with ‘Hangman’ being sent away from Collision on Saturday, amidst different, non-Flagship reports that Page was due to film a pretaped segment in the building, only to be advised this would be happening elsewhere.

It was noted that Punk has claimed that if he’d known Punk was around on Saturday, he would have tried to talk to him with a view to building a potential wrestling program.

Ryan Nemeth and Christopher Daniels were also amongst the AEW personnel sent home from Collision this week. Punk has informed a Flagship source that he was “100% the reason” they weren’t allowed in the building. Daniels, who is AEW’s Head of Talent Relations, is amongst a group of wrestlers that have avoided Punk at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June, with Hardy, the Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Britt Baker in the same boat.

There is currently no word on whether or not ‘Hangman’ responded to Punk’s apology text.
