Three days out from WWE Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk rumours persist...

WWE's stance on bringing CM Punk back to the promotion is yet to change ahead of Survivor Series 2023.

Punk has been continually linked with a WWE return at Saturday's event since being fired by AEW in September, fuelled partly by Survivor Series taking place in Rosemont, IL, a village immediately northwest of Punk's native Chicago. Fightful Select reports that nothing has changed, however.

WWE is understood to have turned down the opportunity to re-sign Punk following his AEW departure. The 45-year-old was sacked by Tony Khan's group with cause following a backstage fight with Jack Perry at August's All In event and, at least for now, WWE isn't doing business with him.

Fightful's report also states that the way WWE revealed Randy Orton as the final babyface participant in Survivor Series' men's WarGames match was designed to curb Punk speculation. The promotion doesn't want fans to expect 'The Voice of the Voiceless' on Saturday, hence the heavy-handed Orton teases.

The outlet's Sean Ross Sapp believes that Punk has and will try to mend fences with the market-leading promotion:

Previously, Fightful had reported that WWE didn't want to create expectations of Punk appearing at Survivor Series 2023, hence denying that he was coming back.
