Best friends turned legal opponents CM Punk and Colt Cabana's relationship took another big turn on 18 June, as the former 'Voice of the Voiceless' filed a countersuit against the man who famously hosted his post-WWE shoot interview podcast.

Per PW Insider, Punk is chasing $600,000 plus interest at the Illinois Circuit Court. It is a response to Cabana's original suit alleging that Punk had promised to cover legal fees from their case against WWE doctor Chris Amann, in which Punk claimed he'd been misdiagnosed by Amann and ended up refusing treatment for what turned out to be a staph infection.

Cabana and Punk won that lawsuit in 2018. Sadly, their public relationship went south soon after, with Colt's suit seeking $200,000 in legal fees he claimed his former buddy had said he would cover. Punk's legal team had dropped Cabana having claimed that the former WWE Champion had already paid around $1.2 million up to that point.

Cabana and his team have until 3 July to respond to the new countersuit.

Let's hope this nasty, complicated situation is resolved before long. Who'd have known a simple podcast appearance could've led to all this?
