CM Punk On Signing For AEW: "I've Talked To Them"

Will we see 'The Voice of the Voiceless' at All Out?

Starrcast's recent announcement that CM Punk will be appearing at their Chicago convention over AEW All Out weekend at the end of August was the closest indication yet that the 40-year-old will eventually return to wrestling, sparking speculation of a big appearance at the pay-per-view.

ESPN recently spoke to the former 'Voice of the Voiceless' on the matter, and, in typical form, Punk was dismissive of the idea.

"They asked me if I wanted to do Starrcast. That's basically it," he said, adding that he hates travelling, and that Starrcast taking place in his home town was the deciding factor.

When asked if he had a relationship with AEW, he said "no." He noted that while "they like to talk about me a lot," "if there's an expectation [that he's going to appear at All Out], it's purely built by them."

So far, so dismissive, but Punk also states that while nothing is imminent with AEW, the company have extended offers to him in the past. That being said, "texting offers isn't really a way to do good business," according to Punk.

Ouch.

There's every chance that Punk is just playing the game here, as he isn't exactly going to spoil an AEW deal before it goes down on TV. Regardless, his words will dent the hopes of anyone who wants to see him on 31 August.
