With CM Punk having recently made his return to the pro wrestling business, many have pondered whether the Second City Saint's wife AJ Mendez, aka AJ Lee, would be tempted to join Punk in the squared circle.

In an interview with the New York Post, the Straight-Edge Superstar has moved to quash those rumours, citing AJ's previous neck issues as a major stumbling block.

"I just want to say no, just because because her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She's got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn't want her to jeopardise [her] health, and neither would she, so we'll put an end to that rumour right now."

It's over six years since AJ Lee's last wrestling match, with her emerging victorious in a six-person tag bout teaming with Paige and Naomi to beat the Bella Twins and Natalya on the 30 March 2015 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Since departing WWE shortly after that contest, AJ has become a New York Times Bestselling author, a screenwriter, has penned several comic book titles, and continues to carry out some amazing work for mental health awareness.
