CM Punk Talks Retirement At 35; Michelle Beadle Talks WWE Incident

Even though CM Punk isn't in WWE right now or possibly ever again, he is finding ways to keep busy. He's become active on Twitter (@CMPunk) again by mostly talking about the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL playoffs, but he hasn't commented on anything wrestling related since he left WWE in January. Punk did take part in an interview with RedeyeChicago where he was asked what it felt like to be retired at the age of 35. He simply said "it feels good" and went on to talk about doing charity work for the Chicago Cubs organization. Celebrities in Chicago are painting chairs to commemorate chairs for the 100th anniversary of Chicago's Wrigley Field. He spoke about his charity work with the Cubs: "It's a lot easier when you hook up with organizations like the Cubs and being friends with some of the team members. It isn't hard to support their charities. Plus I get to do fun stuff like bowl and paint chairs and play whiffle ball with Bill Murray. It was super fun and for a great cause. You've got athletes and actresses and musicians and all kinds of people painting chairs. I'm super happy to be a part of it." Punk didn't speak about his personal life or his upcoming wedding to WWE Diva AJ Lee. In other Punk related news, ESPN TV personality Michelle Beadle joined Jim Ross on his Ross Report podcast this week. Late last year at WWE's Tribute to the Troops show, Beadle made a comment to Punk and Lee got in her face, which led to several reports about what happened. Here's what Beadle had to say about it.
"I show up at Tribute to the Troops. I see him in the hallway, I say 'what up, f--kface', which is my very loving way of referring to my friends. I don't call my friends... I just... I'm an idiot. I call them all kinds of names, that's how you know I like you. He was alone in a hallway, he didn't really say anything. I was with P.R. from WWE and my assistant and we walked by. The next thing I know, she's in my face yelling at me and I honestly, I swear to you, thought it was a joke." "Phil and I stopped being friends that day and I wish him the best of luck and that's it. It's a bummer because I always respected him. I thought he was one of those cool guys that kind of didn't fall into a certain role and kind of did what he wanted but to watch all that happen and to have somebody tattle on me and have their girlfriend get in my face is a little pathetic. But it's okay, I've moved on."
Beadle went on to say that she wasn't surprised that Punk wanted to take some time off, but she is surprised that he didn't come back to WWE yet. She praised him for being a great performer as well.
