CM Punk To Fight Again This Year?
Punk could step back into the Octagon, says trainer.
CM Punk's trainer Duke Roufus has indicated that the former WWE star could fight his second MMA bout later this year.
In an Instagram post today, the former kick-boxer - who heads up the Roufusport MMA Academy in Milwaukee - shared a list of his clients' matches this year, titled "UFC & Bellator 2017 records".
The caption alongside it reads: "Every year I strive to get better as a coach and build a great team culture. I am so proud of all of our team, staff and students."
And featured towards the top of the list is "CM Punk vs TBA", the first indication we've been given that the 38-year-old is ready step back into the fold since his MMA debut last September.
Punk tasted defeat against Mickey Gall during the opening round of his inaugural UFC 203 date in Cleveland.
Whilst many industry experts were then to suggest that he step down a level in order to find less experienced competition, Roufus appears to be hinting at another fight within one of America's top promotions.
The ex-WWE Champion also continues to be linked with a fresh run in professional wrestling, with ROH - his former stomping ground - the latest company to open the door to a possible return.
