CM Punk To Host WWE Show On FS1?
Punk's representative have apparently floated the idea.
The mercury would have to reach absolute rock bottom in Hades before there's any chance of this suggestion coming to fruition, but CM Punk's representatives have apparently pitched the idea of their client sensationally hosting WWE's new studio show on FS1.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week, Dave Meltzer reports that CAA, a talent group which works with both Punk and WWE, has approached FOX with the idea of the 'Voice of the Voiceless' co-hosting the new programme when it launches this October. Renee Young has already been heavily tipped as the lead host for the new format.
Meltzer continued that any agreement would see Punk tied to FOX, not WWE, but that there had been no negotiations to the effect so far. It's said to be entirely the pipe dream of Punk's agent, and not something the ex-wrestler himself has floated - although he has recently embarked on a commentary career.
Given the enduring enmity between WWE and Punk stemming from his firing and subsequent lawsuit, the move seems extremely unlikely. However, with virtually unlimited funds and AEW making increasingly loud overtures to the industry's most valuable stay-away, anything is possible.
That said, if this does happen, we'll literally eat our socks. All of our socks.
