First WWE, now this TV taping. Getting warmer for an AEW return, perhaps?

CM Punk made waves last week when he showed up backstage at Raw when WWE was in his hometown Chicago, but now the Voice of the Voiceless has made his way backstage to another promotion.

Punk turned up at Saturday's IMPACT Wrestling tapings in the Windy City, visiting backstage with several talent. Fightful Select reported that Punk was welcomed to the tapings and brought through by security and numerous fans. Those who spoke to Fightful said he mingled with talent, posed for pictures and generally was in a good mood.

IMPACT personnel such as Jordynne Grace and Ricky Morton posted pictures of themselves with Punk backstage Saturday, and fans also shared photos of the Second City Savior arriving at the tapings.

Punk has once again become the talk of the wrestling world as fans anticipate a return to AEW, the promotion he actually is contracted to. Punk has not appeared in AEW since being stripped of the AEW World Championship and indefinitely suspended after All Out in September.

His appearance the Raw tapings sparked a lot of conversation, as did his reported meeting with Chris Jericho. All of this has occurred while fans await confirmation of the rumors that Punk could be returning to AEW soon, possibly to head up the company's new Saturday show, AEW Collision, which just so happens to be debuting on 17 June from the United Center in... Punk's hometown of Chicago.
