After being asked by a fan on Twitter why AEW were continuing to air their weekly episodes of Dynamite - despite the majority of live sporting/entertainment events being cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic - Cody Rhodes responded (via tweet) by highlighting people's need for a distraction in times like this.

You're probably well aware by now that most of the world's events - which were due to house a large group of people - have been cancelled or postponed due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19. However, American wrestling promotions WWE and AEW have continued to promote their events and plan to broadcast them without a live audience.

Asked about this decision by a fan on Twitter, AEW superstar and Executive VP Cody Rhodes' response can be found below:

Rhodes is still scheduled to take part in a six-man tag match with his fellow Elite brethren this week against members of The Inner Circle to decide who will have an advantage going into the following week's Blood and Guts.

Whether AEW Dynamite sees a ratings increase - as Friday Night SmackDown on Fox experienced after their crowd-less show last night - is yet to be seen.

Yet, it's clear that Rhodes and co. don't plan to 'hold back' and will continue to provide their fans with entertainment throughout these dark times.
