The wider wrestling world beneath WWE is coming together at the moment, with All Elite Wrestling cementing working relationships with NJPW and Impact Wrestling to fit alongside existing partnerships with the NWA, Mexico's AAA and the Japanese joshi scene.

Although doing so any time soon looks unlikely, Cody Rhodes has revealed that he would be open to adding WWE to the list of promotions AEW collaborates with if the circumstances were right.

Here's what the AEW Executive Vice President had to say in a new interview with the New York Post's Joseph Staszewski:-

“There’s no reason that there couldn’t be a potential WWE crossover one day. And I don’t mean that’s a thing that’s been discussed or happening, but none of those rules that exist for other places exist for us. Wrestling is really this universal industry. The territory reference that you made, that’s fairly accurate, but the part of it that’s most accurate was there was a genuine trust."

Whether or not WWE would be willing to entertain such a situation is debatable, but in Cody's words, AEW's "bridges are down," adding that Wednesday Night War or not, his group's main goal is to keep things fresh for the fans.
