Cody Rhodes REFUSES To Bury AEW

Prospective WWE hire Cody Rhodes won't burn bridges on his way out of AEW.

Now-former AEW star Cody Rhodes says he would "encourage [fans] to still watch" the company's output even though he's no longer part of shows like Dynamite and Rampage.

Cody responded to a fan tweet and said he was "very lucky" to work with the men and women he did. When reflecting on those he loved working with, Rhodes named The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes ("Chicken"), MJF and Hangman Page.

He also thanked the "new girls and guys" for "putting in a shift" since joining AEW.

Rhodes closed his tweet by simply saying: "Wrestling is thriving". It's hard to argue against that, but it'll be fun finding out if Cody does the same should he sign on the dotted line with WWE for a second run there. His previous stint ended in disappointment; the Stardust character Vince McMahon wanted Rhodes to play disgusted him, and that led to his departure, some independent catharsis and then AEW's advent.

Returning to the E is a calculated risk from Cody. He's looking to the future, but doesn't want any of his loyal followers to quit enjoying AEW.
