Cody Rhodes WWE WrestleMania 39 Opponent Revealed?
WWE recently filmed something that might give the WrestleMania game away.
There's a chance The Miz will be Cody Rhodes' opponent come WrestleMania 39 next spring.
Fightful Select reports that Rhodes is "fully expected" to return to WWE screens in time for the April pay-per-view. The site also noted that a commercial was filmed this past Thursday - it showed Cody, or at least someone who looks just like him, locking horns with The Miz on a bridge in Los Angeles.
Of course, 'Mania 39 takes place in nearby Inglewood, California, so there's a chance this was a teaser for the show. If so, then it suggests Cody vs. Miz will be one of the main midcard matches on the bumper weekender.
Rhodes tore his pectoral muscle shortly before tangling with Seth Rollins inside the cage at WWE's Hell In A Cell pay-per-view this past June. Cody received huge plaudits for gutting it out, fighting through the pain and working the match despite nasty-looking bruises all across his chest.
He hasn't been spotted on TV since, but is "expected" to launch a comeback in time for 'Mania. It'll be interesting to see if The Miz match happens, or if that LA shoot was for some other WWE project.
