Don't expect to see the now-former TNT Champion on Dynamite for a while.

Cody looks set to take an extended break from AEW television in the wake of last week's TNT Title loss to Mr. Brodie Lee and subsequent beatdown from The Dark Order.

This is according to a new report from PWInsider, who state that 'The American Nightmare' will be off our screens to sell what went down on last Saturday's rearranged episode of Dynamite, with his return date uncertain.

Cody fell to Lee in shocking fashion on 22 August. The build to the match saw the 35-year-old becoming increasingly overconfident with each successful defence, leading to him taking his eye off the ball on several occasions, much to coach Arn Anderson's chagrin. Against Brodie, it caught up with him. Cody barely mounted any offense against The Dark Order's leader in a short, lopsided squash that saw him put away within a few minutes, his acclaimed reign coming to an end.

Stretchered out after the defeat, a neckbrace-clad Cody was beaten down by the entire Order on the ramp. Arn took a few licks himself, along with Dustin Rhodes, who was ambushed backstage and thrown onto the stage, while Cody's wife, Brandi, was choked out by Anna Jay.
