8. "WWF Royal Rumble" (Arcade/Dreamcast) 2000
Released by THQ on Dreamcast and SEGA for Arcades, Royal Rumble was the first Dreamcast exclusive game using the WWF license. As the name implies, Royal Rumble was mainly designed as an arcade game focused on the famous Royal Rumble match and encouraging multiplayer. Indeed, its main selling point was its ability to host 9 characters on screen at one time. Besides that there was not much going on for it. It did have a decent opening FMV, completely using footage from Royal Rumble 2000. Because it was designed as an arcade game, it had an extremely limited roster and a distinct lack of differing game modes. It only had normal exhibition and Royal Rumble mode, in which due to small roster, wrestlers would appear numerous times during the one match. Focusing on the Royal Rumble might have been a good idea, but the lack of wrestlers made it rather pointless. Additionally, because of the Royal Rumble focus there was a severe lack of moves to be executed. Graphics were mostly decent, with the odd screw up, including Road Dogg's microphone for his entrance being laughably huge. As expected, it had a very arcade style of play, based around fast attacks and wearing down your opponent. No depth, barely any variety and none of the added extras that made the other games of the time so memorable. Royal Rumble is a complete dud.
