Current AEW Star Pitches Match With CM Punk
This current AEW hopeful wants perhaps the most unlikely match he could pitch!
Ricky Starks wants a match with CM Punk.
The current AEW man told DAZN that he's fully-aware recent circumstances limit his chances, but Starks still fancies stepping in-ring with Punk at some point in his pro wrestling career - Punk is the kind of "high calibre" worker Ricky wants to test himself against someday.
The ex-Team Taz member did get to work opposite Sting, but he's yet to receive opportunities vs. many guys he's grown up watching as a fan. That's something Starks wants Tony Khan to change in the new year, and he dreams about matching up with Punk on AEW TV.
That's perhaps his ultimate dream bout.
Ricky also put Punk over as a "great addition" to the All Elite roster. Naturally, everything went south following a fiery press conference after AEW's All Out pay-per-view in September 2022. Punk ended his night scrapping with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, and has since been suspended by Khan.
Now, CM's AEW future is very-much up in the air, but Starks hopes they sort that situation out so he can wrestle Punk next year.
