TNA expects to keep these ex-WWE stars under wraps, but they better move quickly.

Fightful Select reports that TNA deals for both Cassie Lee and Jess McKay (formerly known as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE) will expire following this weekend's Bound For Glory pay-per-view on 12 October. There, The IInspiration are set to defend their TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Titles on the pre-show against The Elegance Brand.

After that, they'd technically be free agents, but Fightful notes that TNA chiefs remain interested in keeping Lee and McKay around longer term. They only inked short term deals with the promotion over the summer; sources told Fightful Select that "they expect a deal to get done".

Previously, Lee and McKay found fame in WWE as The IIconics. They made a splash on NXT before moving up to the main roster in April 2018. A reign as Women's Tag-Team Champs followed, but then WWE's interest in the pair cooled rather dramatically. By 2020, they'd disbanded as a team and were trying to carve out spots for themselves on Raw and SmackDown respectively.

Lee and McKay eventually left the company in April 2021, with WWE citing budget cuts shortly after WrestleMania 37. They did, however, return to the WWE fold as part of the TNA roster for the co-promoted Showdown special on 7 October. There, The IInspiration teamed with Kelani Jordan and Mara Sade in a losing effort to Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker and Lola Vice.

This marked the pair's first proper in-ring WWE appearance since being cut loose, but...could more be incoming? Watch this space, especially if they sign their names on the dotted line for a longer stay in TNA.
