Elias has described the whole Austin Theory situation as "bizarre all-round".

WWE's music man flitted between kayfabe and real-life during his latest appearance on 'The Bump'. At one point, Elias even said he had to be "honest" and describe Theory cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase on United States Champ Seth Rollins "bizarre".

In a speech that pointed out some major flaws in WWE's booking, Eli also noted that Seth was making an open challenge and so it didn't make sense for Theory to waste the surprise element that typically comes with being 'Mr. MITB'.

Yep, maybe somebody should've told Triple H about that one!

Seriously though, Elias had a point despite sticking in-character for most of the interview. He questioned why Austin would try to go for a secondary prize when he could wait until top champion Roman Reigns was "vulnerable".

Theory won MITB back on the titular pay-per-view in early-July. Vince McMahon, who was clearly very high on the young star, then retired later that month and everything started to fall apart for his prodigy.

Now, Austin has lost his briefcase. Even Elias can't believe that series of events.
