3. At One Point, His Character Was To Become An Anarchist
One of the best matches included on the Blu-ray set is CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan in a No Disqualifications WWE Championship match from the Money In The Bank PPV 2012. AJ Lee is guest referee for the encounter, as she was involved in the program between the two men, in which her 'crazy chick' persona messed with their heads and played them off against each other. The match is a hugely entertaining encounter, and may surprise a lot of fans as it happened at a time when Bryan was a heel (and a pretty dastardly one at that).
The interview segment that precedes the match reveals that Bryan had new ring gear made after his 18 second loss to Sheamus at Wrestlemania, as he felt like he had to do something to ensure that the loss would somehow work for his character.
So, he envisioned that he would become a crazed anarchist and had a green military jacket made with anarchist symbols adorning it. Fans then embraced the 'Yes' movement and he began to turn face, so by that point the attire didn't fit his character.
However, while still heel, he did decide to give the jacket a go once and it was for this match. However, as soon as he hit the ring, Vince McMahon instructed a crew member to tell Bryan to take the jacket off, as he hated it. Apparently, Dean Malenko, who was the producer of the match, was also chewed out by McMahon for letting it happen!
