The 'Journey To Wrestlemania' documentary devotes a fairly large chunk of time to Bryan's infamous 18-second World Heavyweight Championship loss to Sheamus at Mania 28. What seemed at the time to be a career killer, as Bryan was made to look like a fool in front of 78,000 people, actually turned into the deciding factor that wound up propelling Bryan to the top of WWE.

The fans in attendance were angry at being short-changed by the 'match', as Bryan vs Sheamus had every chance of stealing the show, and they let WWE know their feelings loud and clear with continuous 'Yes' chants the next night on Raw and for months afterwards.

There is also some discussion of how Sheamus and Bryan have been strangely linked at two more Wrestlemania's. At Mania 27, they were scheduled to have a United States Championship match on the main card, but it was turned into a Lumberjack match and bumped to the 'dark match' position before the main show started. It ruined Bryan's first Mania, and Sheamus described it as the lowest point of his career.

Bryan also confirms in an interview segment that he was initially scheduled to wrestle Sheamus again at Wrestlemania 30, until circumstances (CM Punk leaving, Batista's unpopular return) effectively forced WWE to give in to fan demand and add Bryan to the main event.
