In the latest installment of his brilliant feud with The Miz, the SmackDown general manager and the Intercontinental champion got into yet another verbal joust on the most recent episode of Talking Smack. The two have made magic on the show, often blurring the lines between shooting and kayfabe and have managed to convince fans there's some very real animosity between the two.

The Miz joined hosts Daniel Bryan and Renee Young to address John Cena and Nikki Bella, their likely opponents for WrestleMania 33. He launched into a tirade about Cena in which he called him a phony and a fake nice guy, but it was an exchange with Bryan that caught viewers' attention.

Bryan mocked Miz's movies for being "straight to DVD" failures, which prompted Maryse to ask Daniel how many movies he's been in, who replied that he has no interest in acting. That led to this noteworthy exhange:

Miz: “You want to be a wrestler but you can’t because of your head. That’s OK.
Bryan: “I can’t or they won’t let me? We’ll see in a year and a half and see what happens.”

Reports suggest that Bryan's contract expires in 2018, which would grant him the freedom to walk away from WWE and pursue a career wrestling elsewhere assuming he's still able to get medically cleared. He's had a hard time dealing with having to walk away from the business he loves, and one can easily imagine Bryan taking the opportunity to leave a lucrative role within WWE to join a company that's willing to let him return to the ring as an active performer.

Whether this was a hint of Bryan's future intentions or just another segment in what's been a series of genius exchanges between the two that constantly have us wondering where sports entertainment ends and real life begins remains to be seen.

To add intrigue to the moment, as the closing music played Renee turns to Bryan and asked “What’s the deal?” to which he replied, “I wish I could say more.”

Is this a sign that Daniel Bryan is counting the days until his contract expires and he can resume his dream elsewhere? Give is your thoughts in the comments.
