Technically, a new old look.

SmackDown's Daniel Bryan returned to TV for the first time in a fortnight at last night's TLC 2019, sporting a brand new look.

After a standard Bray Wyatt had beat The Miz, his Fiend alter-ego appeared on the big screen threatening the beaten opponent with the same oversized mallet he tried to end Seth Rollins' life with at Hell in a Cell. The lights subsequently went dark, but when they came back up, it wasn't Wyatt standing there with a hammer, but Daniel Bryan.

Wearing a trademark maroon hoodie, Bryan laid the actual Wyatt out with a running knee, before withdrawing his hood to reveal a change of appearance.

The scraggly beard and long hair have been trimmed, giving the Planet's Champion a visage similar to his 2012 vintage.

As Bryan went to hit Wyatt with the ridiculous weapon, the lights went out again, and the evil Mr. Rogers made his escape. The interloper set his sights on the Universal Championship which had been left behind, heavily implying his intentions.

Bryan had not been on TV since he was assaulted by The Fiend on the 29 November episode of SmackDown.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
