Darby Allin Reportedly Suffered A Concussion On AEW Dynamite

Next week's Tornado Tag bout is now in serious doubt.

Following the events of last night’s AEW Dynamite, it’s being reported that Darby Allin suffered a concussion.

This week’s Dynamite saw Allin - who has only recently returned to action - head to the ring to confront Brian Cage, only to be left lying at the hands of Cage and new ally Ricky Starks. The partnership of the FTW Champion and Absolute began on this week’s AEW Dark, and this Taz-tutored tandem was fleshed out further on Dynamite.

On Dynamite, AEW Champion Jon Moxley would come to Darby Allin’s rescue, although Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio claims that Darby suffered a concussion after Starks’ attack - which itself had followed two powerbombs from the Machine.

Shortly after this segment, it was announced that next week would see Moxley and Allin teaming to face off against Cage and Starks in a Texas Tornado tag encounter. If Alvarez is indeed correct and Allin did suffer a concussion, that tag team match will be changed up.

At this stage, AEW nor Darby Allin have yet to respond to these reports, so it remains to be seen just how true Alvarez’s claims are. Here’s hoping that all is well with Darby, and that this hotly anticipated tag contest can take place as originally intended.
