With filming have already started to take place for a third season of VICE TV’s Dark Side of the Ring, any plans to focus an episode on Chyna have now been completely scrapped.

Previously, producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisner have both suggested that the Ninth Wonder of the World may have her life and story documented in a future Dark Side of the Ring episode. Now though, Husney has confirmed that any such plans have been cancelled due to several other Chyna-driven projects being developed elsewhere.

In a statement to Wrestling Inc., Husney explained:

There are no plans for an episode about Chyna for the upcoming season of Dark Side of the Ring. At the start of pre-production earlier this year, we became aware of multiple projects that were currently in production about Chyna, and thus, we ultimately deciding against pursuing this as a future subject.

Additionally, Chyna’s long-time friend and business partner Anthony Anzaldo confirmed to Wresting Inc. that he had previously been approached by VICE over obtaining the rights to Chyna’s story - although he is now no longer giving them permission to document the former Intercontinental Champion’s tale.

Joanie ‘Chyna’ Laurer sadly passed away in April 2016 at the age of just 46.

Where Season 3 of Dark Side of the Ring is concerned, it’s already been revealed that Brian Pillman, Grizzly Smith, and the infamous Collision in Korea event will be featured in the next season of the show.
