Hot off the heels of his starring role in Spectre (in which he uttered the immortal line, "S**t"), former WWE Champion and flat-cap wearer Dave Bautista today confirmed he is set to star in the upcoming sequel to 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

Bautista's little weekend Twitter tease featuring an origami unicorn could only have meant two things: either an unexpected (and unwelcome) WrestleMania appearance with The New Day, or impending confirmation of his role in the Denis Villeneuve directed flick alongside the returning Harrison Ford and fellow golf-cap aficionado Ryan Gosling.Of course, it was the latter, though details are as yet unclear on what part he is set to take, other than it being an important supporting role. Bautista himself confirmed the news on his Twitter.

In his short Hollywood career, Bautista has excelled at playing the hulking, taciturn brute, and in a movie which largely focuses on a rogue band of synthetic super-humans, you'd pin him as the ideal guy to portray a Herculean robot. Save for the fact Blade Runner's replicants are designed to be indistinguishable from ordinary folk. That hat ain't fooling anyone, Dave.

Though Bautista never worked in NXT, he nevertheless looks set to join the ranks of Nexus. Talk about Beauty and the Altered Beast. The untitled Blade Runner sequel is slated for a January 2018 release.Questions...morphology? Longevity? Incept dates? Tell us what you make of Dave Bautista starring in Blade Runner 2 below!

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
