Dave Meltzer has awarded Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's Unsanctioned Match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 ***** in his latest star ratings.

Meltzer scored Elimination Chamber 2025 in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Owens vs. Zayn becomes the 21st match to meet or exceed ***** in WWE history, and the first since CM Punk and Drew McIntyre's acclaimed Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2024 (5 October).

Beyond Zayn and Owens, Meltzer scored the following EC 2025 matches:

- Women's Elimination Chamber: Bianca Belair d. Liv Morgan, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Roxanne Perez: ****1/2

- Trish Stratus and Tiffany Stratton d. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae: **3/4

- Men's Elimination Chamber: John Cena d. CM Punk, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul: ****3/4

Owens defeated Zayn in just over 27 minutes at Elimination Chamber. He was accosted after the match by a returning Randy Orton, who had been on the shelf through an injury angle since KO attacked him in October. Orton teased booting Kevin with his heavily-protected Punt, generally received amongst the most feared finishing moves in WWE, without actually executing. This may be paid off down the line - a future WWE PLE match between the two, possibly at WrestleMania 41, has been rumoured.

Elsewhere, Jacob Fatu vs. Andrade from the 28 February SmackDown was awarded ***1/2. Meltzer's colleague, Bryan Alvarez, gave the same score to War Raiders vs. the Creed Brothers from the 3 March Raw show, along with ****1/4 for IYO SKY's Women's World Title win over Rhea Ripley at the same event.
