David Starr Blasts WWE For Lack Of Healthcare, Quits WXW
Also calls WALTER "a coward."
wXw's David Starr called it quits at the close of last night's Amerika ist Wunderbar show, after launching a scathing tirade against WWE and his perennial opponent WALTER.
Following a defeat to Lucky Kid, Starr snatched a house mic and proceeded to berate those in attendance for chanting 'NXT' throughout the show. He then went on to criticise WWE's lack of professional health care for its wrestlers, before lambasting NXT UK's WALTER as a coward for joining the corporation.
At the end of the diatribe, Starr called it quits on the company.
In a series of Tweets following the show, the indie star recounted his various in-ring eruptions - and also added an additional barb for WWE accepting "Saudi blood money".
Although Starr's outburst is ostensibly part of an ongoing angle which has seen his temperament flare up as a consequence of resulted defeats to WALTER, it's hard to argue there was a certain sting to his statements. In the early hours of Friday morning, the apparent wXw walkout redoubled that his opinions "aren't controlled or beholden to anyone".
"They are mine and I am responsible for them," he concluded. Crikey.
