Did Heat With Vince McMahon Lead To Arn Anderson's WWE Release?

'The Enforcer' may have fallen out with McMahon prior to his departure.

Arn Anderson's 18-year WWE affiliation came to an end on Friday, as Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin broke the news that the legendary Four Horseman member had left the company.

A surprising move, given how well liked and respected Anderson is in the wrestling business, and it sounds like the move was far from amicable.

Per Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Anderson was let go to do "an incident that everyone is pretty much keeping quiet what it was." It took place at a house show, involved Vince McMahon, "wasn't handled well," and Arn took the blame, hence why he is no longer with the company.

Meltzer went on to say that while Anderson had a number of big supporters in WWE management, him and Vince had clashed several times over the years.

WWE have undergone a significant backstage reshuffle in recent weeks, with Anderson departing in tandem with Jeff Jarrett, Chris 'Abyss' Parks, Sonjay Dutt, and Bruce Prichard all assuming new roles. Arn had operated as a producer and road agent since WWE's purchase of WCW in 2001, and shouldn't be short of suitors if he chooses to remain in the business.
