With Stephanie McMahon having recently stepped away from her WWE duties for the foreseeable future, there comes an update that some within WWE were doubting McMahon's executive abilities prior to this sabbatical.

Speaking on We're Live Pal (via WrestlingNews.co), Andrew Zarian stated how someone "in the know" in WWE told him that there were doubts about Stephanie's ability as an executive for the company. This is said to have first come about in the aftermath of the one-time Women's Champion taking over some of Michelle Wilson's responsibilities following Wilson's WWE departure in early 2020.

Some of the responsibilities taken on by McMahon at that time involved ad sales and sponsorship arrangements, and investors have started to question why these areas aren't performing as well now as they did previously.

During this same chat, Dave Meltzer added how WWE had been trying to stop such stories from leaking out to the usual outlets, although he then mentioned how clearly somebody wanted the information to get out into the public - hence why Zarian was given the heads-up on this purported lack of faith in Stephanie.
