Dream Casting Netflix's Hulk Hogan Movie

11. Freddy Blassie - Ed O'Neill

As Hogan himself acknowledges, ‘Classy’ Freddie Blassie played a key pioneering role in bringing "the young Hulkster up to speed and on to greatness". Without him "showing the Hulkster the ways of the dark side in his first year, who knows where Hulkamania would be today" (these are direct quotes from Hogan's own website, so you get the drift of his importance to the story.

Anyone playing Blassie would need to capture the essence of heelish behaviour, but would also have to play the role of a likeable mentor away from his gimmick to Hogan. And few older actors at the moment who could pull that off quite like charming curmudgeon Ed O'Neill, whose Al Bundy remains one of the greatest sitcom heels of all time.

There's also the possibility of Jon Voight, who would probably look the part, but there's just something about the twinkle in O'Neill's eye and it helps that he doesn't look entirely dissimilar to Blassie.
