Drew McIntyre is keeping a close eye on recent SmackDown arrival Ridge Holland.

The former WWE Champion told The Telegraph & Argus that Holland has impressed him since trading NXT for Friday nights. Drew revealed that he and Ridge have spoken "a few times on messenger" (presumably Facebook Messenger), and that he's proud of how hard his fellow Brit has worked on his body.

McIntyre thinks the future looks good for Ridge - the big Scot opined that Holland will have a bright future on SmackDown if he continues working hard and listening to his peers. That must be music to Ridge's ears, but nothing can be taken for granted in the topsy-turvy world of WWE.

Vince McMahon changes his mind a lot, basically.

Holland recently debuted with a few promos on FOX. One was a basic introductory segment, whilst the other revolved around his admiration for Sheamus. Some fans on Twitter wondered if WWE might fancy teaming Ridge and Sheamus up in the future.

It could happen. Sheamus recently traded Raw for SmackDown in the 2021 Draft, and there must be a reason why Holland mentioned the Irishman in the first place.
